Victim in Hit and Run Incident is Identified


A man killed when he was run over in the parking lot of Louie B’s bar early Monday morning in a hit and run has been identified as Gerardo Leon who was 38. Ismael Lares who is 34 was later arrested for the crime and charged with manslaughter, hit and run and DUI.

Charles John Scovell II, a former Atascadero candidate for mayor was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of felony driving under the influence resulting in injury and felony hit-and-run after a late night single-vehicle crash. An Orcutt woman along with her two daughters are missing and police are looking for them.
