Cal Poly Students To Send Mini Satellites Into Space

Cal Poly students are in the process of  launching forty “mini-satellites into space. The CubeSat, is a small, 6” cube-shaped satelite that was designed by Cal Poly students and staff 14 years ago.

Once in orbit, The CubeSat sends back information that can be used for research and technology development. Many organizations, including NASA and the National Science Foundation, use that data. 12 more CubeSats are set to launch aboard an Atlas V rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base on December 5.
