Bike For Health has arranged with the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office to donate 10 bicycles from its Bicycle Program to homeless clients of the Prado Day Center. This event will take place at the Prado Day Center on Thursday, July 17 at 10:00 AM. The Sheriff's Office, Bike for Health, SLO County Bicycle Coalition and Flanders Bicycle are working together to provide bikes as a means of transportation to and from work for Prado clients who are employed. The bikes also help foster a sense of independence for the clients in addition to the added health benefits. Art's Cyclery, Abus, Master Lock and Planet Bike have donated helmets, locks and lights. Certified mechanics from the SLO County Bicycle Coalition will be on hand to adjust the bicycles followed by a two hour on-the-road safety class.
