Wine Festival Begins Today

The 32nd annual Paso Robles Wine Festival begins today, and runs through Sunday. The festival celebrates everything the Paso Robles wine region offers, featuring special tastings, seminars, and more than 130 winery events. Saturday is the grand tasting. A vegetation fire broke out in Lompoc yesterday around 1:30 p.m. on San Miguelito Canyon Road. About 700 acres have been burned. An Arroyo Grande drug raid led to the arrests of eight people last Thursday at around 7 a.m. on Sunset Drive. Police found heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, and cash at the Arroyo Grande home. The home was deemed uninhabitable due to electrical issues and other hazards. Possible Norovirus Outbreak at Cal Poly

A Cal Poly student tested positive for norovirus and 27 other students have similar symptoms. The virus, which has symptoms that include nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, is the primary cause for the stomach flu and lasts one to three days.
