Fire officials say the Branch Fire that broke out in California Valley should be fully contained today. It broke out Saturday and has burned 515 acres, so far. Last night, fire fighters had contained 90-percent of the fire.

Brush Fire Contained At VAFB


The cause of a fire on Vandenberg Air Force Base property is under investigation. A small brush fire broke out last night at the San Antonio Picnic Grounds at about 5p.m. Vandenberg Fire and Hot Shots responded, and were able to fully contain the fire within two hours. The cause is still under investigation.

Gopher Bomb Starts Brush Fire In Atascadero


Whoever set-off a gopher bomb in Atascadero this weekend is responsible for nearly $600,000 dollars worth of damage. The bomb caused a Vegetation Fire on Tecolote Road on Saturday at about 1p.m. The fire burned about one acre, did not damage adjacent residences, and fire fighters were able to contain it in 30 minutes.
