On May 3, at 8:23 pm the Sheriff's Office received several calls of a fight between two males in the 2300 block of Ocean Street, Oceano. Several fires have been reported in the past few days. 50 acres burned near the Rock Front Ranch outside of Santa Maria. Air tankers were used since ground fighting was not accessible. No cause yet. Santa Maria police, with some embarrassment, are looking for 24-year-old Juan Coria Olayo, who slipped out of his handcuffs while he was unattended at the police station. A young humpback whale is now buried at Oceano Dunes.  The whale washed ashore Guadalupe last week.  She washed back out to sea Thursday and strong currents pushed her back onto the beach in Oceano Tuesday.
