San Luis Obispo, CA — Assemblyman Katcho Achadjian from San Luis Obispo took the oath of office yesterday and began his second term in the California State Assembly representing the new 35th Assembly District. During the organizational session Assembly Speaker John A. Pérez announced that Achadjian had been named Chairman of the Assembly Committee on Local Government.
After serving as a member of the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisor for 12 years, Katcho Achadjian was elected to represent the 33rd Assembly District in the California State Assembly. In November 2012 he was re-elected to represent the new 35th Assembly District receiving over 61 percent of the vote. During his first term, Assemblyman Achadjian distinguished himself as a bipartisan problem solver and was known for his willingness to work across party lines to do what he thought was in the best interest of the people of California.
