Active Shooter Training

Today from 12:30 to 3:30 the San Luis Obispo Police and Fire Department will be conducting a joint active shooter training with San Luis Obispo High School teachers and staff.  The training will involve an active shooter scenario for school staff and is intended to help better prepare all the involved parties for these types of incidents.

During the training scenario officers will be simulating explosive devices and gunfire.  The High School fire alarm will also be activated and allowed to run for approximately 15 minutes.  The San Luis Obispo Police Department wants residents that live near the high school to be aware that this is a training exercise and not to be alarmed during this training scenario.
