Police have released the name of the young woman who died after she was hit by a car. Early Monday morning, San Luis Obispo Police and Fire Departments arrived at Santa Rosa and Foothill to find an injured woman lying in the roadway. 21 year old Tanya Moore was taken to Sierra Vista Medical Center for severe lower body trauma. After a preliminary investigation, police determined that Moore was already lying in the roadway when a car, driven by 23 year old Frederick Gonzalez hit her. Gonzalez told police that he tried to swerve, but was unable to avoid hitting the woman. According to police, he cooperated fully with the investigation and was not cited or arrested.
