Update: New Details Emerge About Pismo Beach Carjacking



Pismo Beach, CA -- On Wednesday the Pismo Beach Police Department received information regarding a carjacking that had just occurred in the 500 block of Cypress Ave., Pismo Beach.  Responding officers obtained information regarding 40-year-oldCharles Shannon Ravert of Bakersfield who had reportedly brandished a firearm to one of the victims and told him that he was taking the vehicle.

Ravert fled the scene and was located shortly after by the California Highway Patrol on Hwy 166.  The CHP turned to follow the speeding vehicle at which point Ravert lost control and crashed. Ravert was taken into custody by the CHP and later turned over to the Pismo Beach Police Department.

Ravert is being held on $100,000.00 bail for carjacking, brandishing a firearm, theft of a vehicle, driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license.
