An early morning collision in Santa Barbara not only injured two, but landed one of them in jail. Early Tuesday morning, the driver of a Toyota Camry drifted into another lane on Highway 101 and collided with a big rig. The Camry, driven by 19 year old Jared Savoy of Carpentaria, went off the road, into the center divider, then burst into flames. He suffered moderate injuries. The truck driver, a 26 year old man from Perris, California, was able to take control of his truck and suffered only minor injuries. After investigating the collision, it was determined that Savoy was under the influence of alcohol and arrested. |
