Two Men Arrested for Attempted Homicide

Two young men are behind bars as police continue the investigation of an attempted homicide this past weekend in Santa Maria. Francisco Martinez and Christopher Castillo, both 20, were served search and arrest warrants by the Sheriff’s Department’s Gang and SWAT Teams in the Tanglewood area of Santa Maria yesterday. Martinez was arrested for attempted homicide, assault with a firearm, discharging a firearm into an inhabited dwelling and active participation in a street gang. He is currently in the Santa Barbara County Jail being held at $1 million bail. Castillo is also in County Jail for being under the influence of a controlled substance. His bail was set at $2,500. The investigation is still underway. |
