San Luis Obispo, CA -- Two young girls are safely returned to their parents after they were reported missing at Lake Nacimiento Wednesday night. San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's deputies were called to the lake at about 6:30 in the evening, when a 10-year-old girl and 13-year-old girl were late to meet back with their family. They were last seen about an hour earlier. A search and rescue effort began immediately. Monterey County Park Rangers performed vehicle inspections at the park exit, the California Highway Patrol's helicopter was dispatched and a boat from Monterey County was sent to help with the search. The SLO County Sheriff's Department says the two girls were found unharmed at a campsite in the park about two and a half hours later. They were returned to their parents. No foul play was suspected.
