Traffic on Highway 101 Slows Due to Vehicle Fire

San Luis Obispo, CA -- Traffic on Highway 101 near the San Luis Bay Drive exit came to a near standstill yesterday. A vehicle fire on the shoulder in the area was to blame. The CHP was on the scene just before 1 o’clock. It took crews about 30 minutes to put out the blaze, which had completely engulfed the truck. No one was injured in the incident.

Traffic was completely stopped on the southbound lanes and slowed on the northbound lanes. Reportedly, a motorcyclist traveling north came on the slowed traffic too fast and hit a car. The man was thrown to the ground from the motorcycle. He was taken to Arroyo Grande Community hospital where he is in critical but stable condition.
