Thrift Store Burglarized
King Harris Reporting
San Luis Obispo, CA -- The San Luis Obispo Police want to know who broke into the "United Voluntary Services" store on Marsh Street over the weekend. This is the third break-in at the non-profit in less than two years. On Sunday, someone broke a window, destroyed merchandise, and took their cash register. The thieves got away with just ten dollars. UVS thrift store donates all its proceeds to groups like the Women's Shelter and the Children's Dental Fund, which provides free care for low-income families. Earlier this year, thieves busted out the same window and last year someone ripped out the back door to get in. According to KSBY, volunteers would like to install a security system, but they just can't afford it. San Luis Obispo Police is looking into the break-ins, but they don't have any suspects.
