The SLO Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit has found hundreds of thousands of dollars in marijuana in the hills near Lake Nacimiento and in the Los Padres National Forest. They conducted two aerial raids on the fields, netting more than 10,000 plants. According to Narcotics Unit supervisor Sergeant Rick Neufeld, the garden near Lake Nacimiento was a high quality grow site; each plant is valued at $3,500. After removing more than 9,000 plants, Narcotics Detectives raided the grow in the Los Padres National Forrest, leading to the seizure of more than 1,600 plants. The estimated street value of the marijuana plants in that field is $1,700. No suspects were seen at either site. |
