Third Annual Giant Pumpkin Contest Breaks the Record
|
|
Can you image a 790 pound pumpkin? Well, if you went to Farmer’s Market in San Luis Obispo last week, you wouldn’t have to use your imagination. Pacey Encell of Solvang brought in the record breaking pumpkin. The 790 pound squash is the heaviest pumpkin ever weighed in San Luis Obispo County. Johnny Schmitz was awarded for having the most beautiful pumpkin. And Daniel Palla’s pumpkin was named the most unusual. The growers of the top three heaviest pumpkins rolled home their share of $1,500.
