Thieves Commit String Of Car Burglaries



San Luis Obispo, CA -- The San Luis Obispo Police Department received reports of seven car burglaries Friday, all of which occurred during the previous night. Four of the burglaries occurred in the Oceanaire area, one on Tank Farm Road, and two in the Foothill/Patricia area. In each case, valuable items were left in plain view including two purses, two wallets, a camera bag, a backpack, a video security system, and a duffel bag.
 
In five of the burglaries, the suspect or suspects used an unknown object to smash the window closest to the visible property. In one case, a convertible top was cut with a knife, and in the last case the vehicle was left unlocked.
 
At this time there are no significant leads or witnesses to the crimes. Anyone with any information about these burglaries is encouraged to contact the SLOPD.
 
The San Luis Obispo Police Department reminds residents and visitors to always secure valuables out of sight, always lock your vehicle, and report suspicious activity to the police department right away.
