Paso Robles, CA -- A Paso Robles teenager, 17-year-old Noah Erwin, is being credited for helping to save a woman's life at the municipal pool. Last Thursday afternoon the woman was swimming in an a water aerobics class for seniors when she reoprtedly had a seizure. Erwin, the lifeguard on duty, immediately came to her aid. Erwin said he took off his shoes and jumped in after people started yelling. The lady was lying face down. One lady grabbed her arms and torso and Erwin grabbed her legs and both pulled her out. He says she was unconscious the entire time.
Erwin was a water polo player who had basic life guard training from working summers at the local water park, but never expected to use his skills. He said he hopes he'll never have to call on his those skills again, but says he'll be ready.
As for the woman, she returned home from the hospital last Friday.
