The sentencing for the leader of the so-called “Big Money Bandits” has been postponed. The six men were tried for conspiring to rob the Los Padres Bank in December. Their leader, Leonard Jones was convicted of conspiracy and criminal gang activity. Jones should have heard his punishment today, but the judge postponed his sentencing until October 16th. The District Attorney’s Office hasn’t decided whether to try Jones again for the Downey Savings bank robbery in November.
