Posted: Thursday, 25 September 2008 9:24AM Santa Barbara County Residents Collect a Tons of Trash... LIterally! How would you like spending your last days of summer with more than 2,000 pounds of trash? That’s what more than 500 Santa Barbara County residents did during the 24th annual California Clean Up. On Saturday, volunteers came out to clean up their local beaches and waterways with over a ton of trash being collected and close to 600 pounds of recyclables. The even takes place the third Saturday of September.
