SUV and Police Car Collide
|
|
A chase after a wrong-way driver turned messy early this morning. Pismo Police Officers ran a traffic break for a driver on the 101 who was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes. Around 1:30am, a Pismo Police Officer pulled to the right shoulder and made a u-turn in order to catch up to the driver, but when the officer made the turn, an SUV was unable to stop before colliding with the front of the patrol car. The police officer was not injured, but all four people in the SUV were taken to Sierra Vista for treatment of minor injuries. The wrong way driver was eventually taken off the freeway by Templeton CHP at Grand Avenue. |
