San Luis Obispo, CA -- A San Luis Obispo man is in jail after leading the California Highway Patrol on a high speed chase in Santa Barbara County, with a stolen license plate. Around 3:30 yesterday afternoon, a CHP officer pulled Jonathan Hernandez over near Highway 101 and Storke Road for driving more than 80 miles per hour. The officer determined Hernandez did not have a valid driver’s license. During the traffic stop, Hernandez drove off. A half hour later, a Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Deputy saw Hernandez outside of a Goleta apartment complex, crouched behind a Chevrolet Impala. Deputies say Hernandez was in the process of changing the license plate. Hernandez and an under aged female were arrested.
