If you use Santa Rosa Street during your daily drive, avoid it if you can this week. Starting tomorrow morning at 6, road crews will be paving the section of Santa Rosa between Murray Street to Foothill. Drivers may experience delays up to 20 minutes. On Friday, drivers should allow for delays up to 10 minutes while paving continues from Highland to Westmont Drive. Also, from 8pm through tomorrow morning at 6, traffic safety equipment will be installed at Murray Street and Foothill Boulevard. The paving must be done during the day when it is at least 70 degrees because of the rubberized asphalt used in this project. CalTrans strongly encourages drivers to avoid Santa Rosa during the daytime hours.
Highway 1 near Morro Bay is also being repaved. Intermittent lane closure in both directions between the San Lucito Creek and Old Creek bridges will take place from 7am to 4pm Monday through Thursday and on Fridays from 7am to 1pm. The $2.5 million project is expected to be complete by the end of September.
Another re-paving project down in Santa Barbara County. Highway 246 from Hill Haven Road to Via Juana Road and also the section of the highway from Edison Street to the 154 Interchange will be re-paved. Road crews will start working on the project at 8am Monday through Friday and will continue into the afternoon hours. Drivers should allow for 15 minute delays. The $975,000 project will be complete by mid-September.
Construction continues throughout the county for the Nacimiento Water Project. The SLO County Department of Public Works has announced that a pipe needs to be installed on Vaquero Road in Templeton. This means temporary road closures beginning today, which means traffic delays. Crews will be working on installing the pipe Monday through Friday from 7am to 5pm. This section of the project is expected to be complete later this month.
Highway 101 will be closed in Templeton this weekend due to the Vineyard Overcrossing project. The southbound lanes of the highway will be closed from Vineyard Drive to Las Tablas Road Sunday night. The Vineyard Overcrossing project will be complete in early 2010.
