Reminder: Fireworks Illegal in San Luis Obispo

San Luis Obispo, CA -- Cal Fire wants to remind you that all fireworks are illegal in San Luis Obispo County. Possessing, selling or using fireworks will result in a misdemeanor citation with a $2,000 fine. However there are some exceptions. State Regulated “Safe and Sane” fireworks are legal in the San Miguel, Templeton and Oceano Community Services District, and the cities of Arroyo Grande and Grover Beach. The use of all fireworks is prohibited in all other areas of San Luis Obispo County.

Several cities will have free public fireworks displays: Pimso Beach, Morro Bay, Cayuos, Cambria, Santa Maria, and Paso Robles will all start their shows at dusk.
