Police are one step closer to finding the driver involved in a hit and run collision that killed a 14 year old girl. On Labor Day, Christina Veloz-Payne was hit and killed while trying to walk across the northbound lanes of Highway 101 near Glenn Annie Road. The Goleta girl was last seen by her friends after a fireworks show at Girsch Park that night, and was later reported missing by her mother. Her body was found in the brush off of Highway 101. After further investigation, the CHP determined that the car involved was a ‘96 to ’98 Ford Taurus that may have damage on the hood or the roof of the car. Anyone with information can call the CHP at 967.1234. |
