Police Investigating Head-on Collision in San Luis Obispo
Police are investigating a head-on collision that injured two and backed up traffic for hours in San Luis Obispo. According to the San Luis Obispo Police Department, 40 year old Lisa Graff was driving southbound on South Higuera, when she drifted into on-coming traffic and collided head-on with 57 year old James Blackburn. Numerous emergency vehicles and personnel were sent to South Higuera and Vachell Lane (near Los Osos Valley Road) to get the victims out of their cars. The crash totaled both cars and completely blocked the northbound lanes. Firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to free Blackburn. Then he was transported to the hospital for treatment of major injuries. Graff suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital as well. A preliminary investigation revealed that Graff was under the influence of medication at the time of the crash and was arrested for felony DUI.
