San Luis Obispo County, CA -- The first happened at a single family home on Lyn Road in Nipomo. A neighbor called in the fire at about 9:15 in the morning. Crews arrived at the 900 square foot home and found smoke showing. They were able to contain the blaze in 15 minutes. The fire caused about $30,000 worth of damage; the cause is under investigation.
The second fire burned about ½ an acre near El Comino Real in Atascadero. This grass fire was reported at about 4:10 Saturday afternoon and contained in roughly 30 minutes. The fire was running uphill and threatened buildings, but never burned any. The cause was “undetermined.”
