Posted: Friday, 24 October 2008 8:53AM PG&E Given the Go-Ahead from the NRC Another legal battle between SLO Mothers for Peace and PG&E… Federal regulators gave the thumbs up to the power company to store spent nuclear fuel in aboveground casks at the Diablo Canyon Power Plant. Mothers for Peace argued that the power company didn’t take an in-depth look at whether the casks could withstand potential terrorist attacks. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission voted 3-1 saying that no more study is needed.
