San Luis Obispo, CA -- Vandenberg Air Force Base announced the next rocket launch at the base. Base officials say a Delta II rocket will blast off in two weeks, on June 9. The launch window opens at 7:20 that morning. The rocket will carry an environmental observation satellite into orbit. The satellite is called Aquarius. It was built by NASA to map out global changes in salinity, which is the concentration of dissolved salt, at the ocean's surface. It'll be up in orbit for three years.
