New Text Messaging Alert System Now Implemented at Local Campus
A new way of relaying information during a crisis has found its way to Cuesta College. Today is the first day that AlertU will be the standard emergency alert system on the college campus. AlertU is a web-based system that sends out text messages to subscriber’s cell phones in the event of an emergency. It also allows for two-way communication so that people can relay information to officials outside the crisis zone. Those interested in receiving these alerts can text “Cuesta” to 25-37-88 from a cell phone and reply “Y.”
