Mothers for Peace Says It Is Too Soon
|
Unit 2 is back up and running at Diablo Canyon, but Mothers for Peace says its too soon. After conducting an in-depth analysis, PG&E now knows that the fire started with a mishap with the connection between the transformer and a high voltage transmission line. Spokeswoman for Mothers for Peace, Jane Swanson says that PG&E should have a better understanding of what caused the fire, so more steps can be taken to prevent it from happening again. The group also thinks that additional measures should have been put in place to protect the workers before PG&E got the transformer back up and running. The damaged transformer was replaced and service resumed at 4am this past Saturday. |
