Cambria, CA -- A Minnesota man arrested in Cambria is facing charges today, accused of abandoning his eleven-year-old son. Police say the boy woke up one morning in July and found himself alone. His father, Steven Cross, left him a letter saying he's leaving for good because he couldn't find a job and their house was being foreclosed on. Authorities say the letter went on to instruct the boy to pack up his PlayStation and go to a neighbor's house. Cross was arrested this week in California as police caught up with him at his new job at a deli in Cambria. He has a court hearing later on today and could end up back in Minnesota in a few days, provided he doesn't fight extradition. His son is staying with a relative.
