Atascadero, CA -- A fire in rural Atascadero destroyed a home yesterday evening. The flames sparked on El Camino Real, near Pine Avenue just before 10 o’clock. A neighbor reported the home was fully involved. Fire crews from CAL FIRE, Atascadero City Fire and Atascadero State Hospital Fire all responded. The flames were knocked down in just over 20 minutes. The woman inside the home was able to escape uninjured. No word yet what sparked the flames.
