Posted: Thursday, 12 June 2008 10:04AM Grant Awarded to the County to Help Reduce Underage Drinking San Luis Obispo County has been awarded a grant by the Alcoholic Beverage Control. The $55,000 grant will go towards helping reduce the amount of underage drinking in the county by funding shoulder tap and decoy operations over the next year. The Sheriff’s Department plans to have two deputies on duty during the MidState Fair to look for adults supplying alcohol to minors. In Spring Break of 2007, deputies helped the ABC with a minor decoy operation in which they found 6 of the 9 licensed establishments sold alcohol to minors.
