The Grand Jury was sent to inspect the California Men’s Colony, and they are pleased with their findings. They said that even though the prison is overcrowded, it is managed well by a professional staff. The Grand Jury found that the Theatre Department was one of the more successful programs. The director of the London Shakespeare Workout traveled from England to teach the inmates a voice and movement workshop. They concluded their report with: “We [the Grand Jury] commend the staff and inmates at CMC for creating a positive prison environment.”
