Fatal Collision in Pismo and Major Injury Accident in Paso Robles

The CHP continues to investigate the fatal accident that claimed the life of a Pismo Beach woman Friday night on Price Canyon Road. 58 year old Franchesca Rubin was killed when her car was hit head-on by an 18 year old man who has been arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter. The man, according to CHP officers, was driving erratically and crossing the yellow line eastbound about a mile from Highway 227 at 5 pm. He caused two other cars to collide just before he hit Rubin. Two others received minor injuries. Alcohol and drugs weren’t involved.
In Paso Robles on the same night just before 6 o'clock, emergency crews responded to an accident on 46 East and Airport Road where they found that two cars had broadsided each other. One woman From Bakersfield had to be extricated with the jaws of life and was taken to Twin Cities Hospital. She was transferred to Sierra Vista with a broken neck. Two children were injured. Drugs and alcohol weren’t involved. |
