FBI Arrests Arroyo Grande Woman for Stealing Money from the U.S. Bank
King Harris Reporting
Arroyo Grande, CA -- The Federal Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Arroyo Grande woman accused of stealing money from a local branch of the U.S. Bank. The US Attorney's Office says 25-year-old Brenda Bautista Hurtado was arrested Tuesday morning, after she was named in an indictment last Friday. The indictment accuses Hurtado of stealing $100,000 from two elderly customers' accounts and another $10,000 in cash from the vault at the U.S. Bank branch in Arroyo Grande where she worked. The FBI arrested Hurtado in Guadalupe, where agents say she was staying for the past few months. Hurtado faces three counts, and each count of theft by a bank employee carries a maximum penalty of 30 years in federal prison along with a fine of up to $1 million.
