Posted: Monday, 05 May 2008 8:36AM Drunk Driver Kills Santa Barbara County District Attorney A Santa Barbara County District Attorney investigator was killed last week in a car crash that involved alcohol. According to the CHP, they were chasing a Mercedes driven by 22 year old Ashley Johnigan of Santa Barbara. Johnigan was traveling towards Highway 154 from Santa Ynez. Johnigan then crashed into D.A. Investigator Laura Cleaves driving a Dodge. Cleaves was killed. Then Johnigan crashed into a Ford Escape. That driver received minor injuries. Johnigan was arrested and booked for DUI.
