Don't Be Alarmed, County-Wide Drill Being Held Today

Several local and state agencies will be working together in a county-wide emergency drill today. The drill will involve a simulated emergency involving the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant. The exercise will test communications systems, inter-agency coordination procedures and emergency response plans. There will be emergency communication going over the airwaves and phone calls will be made. So, be assured that if you hear anything today, it is most likely a drill. FEMA will be evaluating the county on its ability to protect the public in the event of a nuclear power plant accident.
