Decrease in DUI Arrests During MidState Fair
|
|
Law enforcement saw a dramatic decrease in drunk drivers during this year’s MidState Fair. Saturation patrols yanked 6 DUI drivers off the roadways from July 23rd to August 3rd. Eleven drivers who were intoxicated behind the wheel were busted during the usual patrol shifts worked by the Paso Police. That is a total of 17 DUI this year, compared to the 2007 MidState Fair where 24 people were arrested. The anti-DUI campaign, Avoid the 14, is happy to have seen the 29% reduction in arrests. Avoid the 14 will cracking down on drunk drivers starting August 15th through Labor Day Weekend. |
