Dan DeVaul, owner of the controversial Sunny Acres recovery center, pleaded not guilt to charges of violating county codes. DeVaul has been charged with stockpiling junk and allowing people to live in illegal buildings. He appeared in court yesterday. The Tribune says a judge set a pre-trial conference for July 24. A judge in the case recused herself and handed it off to another judge. DeVaul had no attorney. He said he would defend himself. If convicted. he could spend four years in jail. |
