Another volunteer event is being called a huge success. On Saturday, more than 700 San Luis Obispo County residents got together and picked up trash from creek and river beds throughout the county. Over 100 cubic yards of garbage and 60 cubic yards of recyclables were collected during this year’s Creek Day. Volunteers found everything from mattresses to a tire from the 1940s. If you didn’t make it out this year, you can go to creekday.org to find out how you can make next year’s event an even bigger—and cleaner—success.
