Counterfeit money found its way to the fairgrounds this year, and the two people responsible have been arrested. On Friday night, Sheriff’s Deputies were informed by several vendors that two white males were using counterfeit $100 and $50 bills. When police approached the suspects, they searched them and found $150 in counterfeit money. 19 year old Matthew Tyler Alcala was arrested for forgery and is being held at $20,000 bail. The other person involved was a 17 year old boy and he was taken to the JuvenileServicesCenter where he is being held without bail for the same charge. The US Secret Service Office in Ventura is continuing the investigation. |
