Posted: Thursday, 04 September 2008 12:33PM Congresswoman Capps to Visit Santa Maria Congresswoman Lois Capps will be in Santa Maria to check out the new public library. Capps will arrive tomorrow morning at 10:30 to visit the Career Center, the Central Coast Literacy Council offices, the Library Shop and Teen Zone. Capps secured $150,000 in funding last year for the library to make some improvements. The latest additions to the library allow more space for computer classes, homework help and story time. Congresswoman Capps also announced that the Woman’s Shelter of San Luis Obispo County has received the Transitional Housing Grant. The $250,000 award will go towards expanding their transitional housing stock, subsidizing childcare and providing counseling and self-defense classes.
