Come 2009, Animal Services Will No Longer Be Under the Sheriff's Department
|
|
Animal Services in San Luis Obispo County will be changing hands. During the County meeting yesterday, the Board of Supervisors voted to give the disconcerting animal services division to the Health Agency and take it away from the Sheriff’s Department. Supervisor Ovitt was the only one who objected, saying that the Sheriff’s Department was doing a good job. According to The Tribune, Sheriff Pat Hedges didn’t even want to keep Animal Services under his control. The change will take effect January 1st. |
