Paso Robles, CA -- A 9-year-old girl was tossed from a carnival ride at the California Mid-State Fair yesterday afternoon. She suffered minor injuries and was taken to Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton. The girl fell from a car on the Super Himalaya ride at about 3 o’clock. The ride's operators said that neither the lap bar nor the ride malfunctioned.
Super Himalaya features cars on a circle track that spin forward and then backward at an angle. How fast the ride was going was not released. The car the girl was in apparently was going backward when she was tossed onto the ride's platform.
Investigators are now looking into the incident; the ride has been closed in the mean time.
