Posted: Thursday, 11 September 2008 7:44AM Cal Poly Mustang Making Paralympic History Arroyo Grande native and Cal Poly grad, Stephanie Brown Trafton, has brought home the Olympic Gold for the women’s discus event this year. Now another Mustang is making Olympic History. Senior Cal Poly swimmer Mark Barr is currently in Beijing for the 2008 Paralympic Games. So far he has placed eighth in the 100-meter butterfly and was part of Teams USA’s 4-by-100 freestyle. Team USA placed sixth. Barr is scheduled to compete in three more events. During the Big West Conference Championships last February, Barr set three American Paralympic records in the 3 different butterfly events.
