CHP Officers Teach New Drivers How to Stay Safe on the Open Road
Car crashes are the leading cause of death for American teens, which is why the California Highway Patrol has developed the Start Smart class for new drivers. The San Luis Obispo CHP will talk about collision avoidance techniques and seatbelt usage. CHP Officers who have investigated fatal crashes will share their stories with students. The Start Smart Traffic Safety Awareness class will be held Saturday morning at nine o’clock. Find out more by contacting Officer Joe Vega at 593.3300.
