Today is going to be a beautiful day at the beaches on the Central Coast weather-wise, but the bacteria levels at one beach will keep swimmers out of the water. According to The Tribune, a weekly water quality test showed high bacteria levels south of the Pismo Pier. Signs will be posted to advise visitors of the health risk. Bacteria levels in the water at Pismo Beach have exceeded safe state standards more than 20 times in the past two years. The City of Pismo Beach has hired Cal Poly professors to help identify the source of the pollution.
